Rain lashes Shimla, Una and surrounding areas

Shimla, Oct 5 (UNI) After one week of clean weather, rain lashed the hill queen Shimla, Una district and surrounding areas this afternoon today with heavy fog and cloudy conditions disrupting air and land transport services in the state.

Shimla had mild rainfall recorded at 0.7 mm while Una received 1 mm of rain. Tourist resorts of Kufri, Naldehra and Narkanda were also lashed with rain.

The air traffic was suspended due to foggy weather in Shimla and Kullu. The heavy fog, followed by intermediate mild rainfall for three hours, disrupted vehicular traffic this afternoon on National Highway-22 and other link roads.

The Minimum and Maximum temperature recorded in Shimla were 15.7 and 22.8 degree Celsius respectively, Sundernagar 20.7 and 30.5, Bhunter 17.4 and 31.1 degree Celsius, Kalpa 8.2 and 21.9, Una 19.1 and 31.6 and Dharamshala 15.1 and 27.2 degree Celsius.

The met office forecast rain or thundershowers in few places in the Himachal Pradesh for next 24 hrs.
