Passenger bus services call off stir, services resume
Imphal, Oct 5 (UNI) The All Manipur Bus Owner's Association today suspended its stir and resumed all passenger bus services resumed.
The association had called the bandh to demand a hike in fare.
Due to the stir all the inter state bus services were cancelled and people faced hardships due to the stir for the last two days.
Official sources said the state Cabinet revised the rates of fare, freight and hiring charges of commercial vehicles.
Accordingly, fares of ordinary buses, city/mini buses and Inter-State luxury buses would be respectively Rs 0.53, Rs 0.57 and Rs 0.83 per passenger for every km while the freight and hiring charges of Inter-State truck, local truck (heavy) and local mini-truck would be Rs 0.38, Rs 0.34 and Rs 0.42 per quintal for every km respectively.
