Malhotra promises Delhi's developement on lines of Gujarat
New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) BJP Chief Ministerial candidate Vijay Kumar Malhotra today promised the all round development of Delhi on the lines of Gujarat.
Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Malhotra said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has made overall developments to ensure prosperity, which they would emulate here.
''We will make efforts to give full statehood to Delhi,'' he said, adding that previous NDA government in 2002 had made all efforts to give Delhi full statehood but since it did not get the requisite majority, the plans remained unfulfilled.
The Congress, despite being in the Centre as well in the state has not made any efforts to give State status to the Capital, he alleged.
We shall give better administration, efficient Government and scientific use of land to the city, Mr Malhotra assured.
He also claimed that life of the denizens would be better in BJP regime for ''We will ensure uninterrupted power and water supply at fair and reasonable rates. We will also regularise the unauthorised colonies and provide civic amenities in the slums.'' BJP leader Vijay Goel, MCD Mayor Arti Mehra were also present on the occasion.
