KCCI present executive will function for another year

Srinagar, Oct 5 (UNI) The present executive of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), also spearheading the boycott of Jammu firms, will continue to function for another year.

This decision was taken by the members of the KCCI unanimously at a meeting held here last evening, a spokesman of the KCCI said today.

He said it was decided to extend the term of the present executive committee headed by Dr Mubeen Shah for a further period of one year.

The decision to this extent was taken at an extraordinary general meet held at KCCI office today.

Dr Shah addressing the members apprised them of the present conditions of trade and commerce in the state and sought support from all sections of trade, commerce and industry for carrying forward the aim and objective of KCCI.

He called for unity amongst the members of KCCI and appealed to the traders' fraternity and members of KCCI to join hands to achieve its objectives.

The Kashmiri traders have decided to boycott all the goods being supplied from Jammu in protest against alleged participation of Jammu based firms and traders in recent economic boycott forced by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) during Amarnath land row.

More than two dozen vehicles, carrying supplies from Jammu were sent back from here by the traders, who have now decided to do business directly with other states.
