IED, Grenade recovered, 2 arrested in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 5 (UNI) Security forces averted two major tragedies when they recovered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) and a live hand grenade in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said.

They said a Road Opening Party (ROP) noticed an IED planted by militants to target security forces at Batengo in Sopore.

The entire area was sealed and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused the IED without causing any damage, they added.

A live hand grenade was recovered at Kangan Bazar in Ganderbal district today, sources said adding that two suspects were taken into custody for questioning.
