Heroin worth Rs 50 lakh seized from general bogie of a train
Katihar, Oct 5 (UNI) Police today seized over 500 gm of heroin worth over Rs 50 lakh from a general bogie of 3160 down Jogbani-Chitpur express at Katihar railway station of North East Frontier railways.
Superintendent of Police (Railway) Vindo Kumar Choudhry said a raid was conducted in the general bogie following a tip-off. The police found an unclaimed packet and seized it.
He said ''hundred per cent pure heroin'' was written on the packet which was made in Thailand.
The packet had been sent for chemical test.
The estimated value of the seized heroin is over Rs 50 lakh in the international market.
