Heroin seized from Birmingham-bound Air India flight
Amritsar, Oct 5 (UNI) An unspecified quantity of heroin was seized by customs staff from a Birmingham-bound Air India flight at Raja Sansi airport here today.
A customs official said the seizure was made from the baggage of two German nationals. The quantity of the heroin has not yet been evaluated as the aircraft was still being searched at the airport.
The official said the aircraft was taxing on the runway and was awaiting clearance for take-off when customs officers received information that there could be heroin on the aicraft.
Thereafter, the aircraft was not allowed to take off and the customs officials swung into action to find the contraband.
