Counterfeit currency in another UP district, 2 held
Lakhimpur Kheri, Oct 5 (UNI) Police today said they have seized fake currency worth over Rs four lakh and nabbed two persons in the connection from Pehwa colony here late last night.
The arrested confessed to the crime, saying they used to circulate counterfeit currency in the market according to its resemblance with the real notes, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ram Bharosey said here.
On interrogation, the accused divulged that the persons, who circulated the fake notes that looked more like real, used to get the highest commission of 60 per cent, followed by 45 and 35 per cent.
The phoney currency was brought into UP and Uttarakhand from Nepal, the SP informed.
