Jammu, Oct 5 (UNI) The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has alleged that mainstream parties, including Congress, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are exploiting and dividing people in all three regions of Jammu and Kashmir to generate vote bank for the forthcoming assembly elections.

''The political parties like the BJP, Congress and the PDP were exploiting people on communal and religious lines and also trying to create wedge among the people from all three regions of the state,'' alleged BSP leader Yash Pal Bhagat while addressing a public meeting at Pindi Charkan in tehsil Bishnah on city outskirts yesterday.

Mr Bhagat, however, said the Congress was making all efforts to delay the Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

''Election should be held in November on its scheduled time as it is in the interest of the state and this democratic set up,'' the leader said, adding that Election Commission should announce its decision as all the parties have geared up to contest the polls.
