Bhopal: FIR against 6 cops for beating BJP MP

Bhopal, Oct 5: An FIR was lodged against six RPF personnal under Section 307 (attempt to murder) and 147 of IPC who alledgely thrashed Virendra Kumar Khatik, the BJP MP from Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. The MP was beaten severely by the Railway Protection Force cops with lathis when the he tried to obstruct an anti-encroachment drive in Bina. He was later hospitalized and he is now out of danger.

Madhya Pradesh DGP S K Raut asked railway IG Mohan Rao to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report within three days. Raut also visited the Hamidia Hospital to inquire about the Khatik's condition. Bhartiya Janata Party on Saturday, Oct 4 evening demanded resignation of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on this issue.
