Jaipur, Oct 5 (UNI) Bandhs were observed today in Dungarpur, Begun(Chittorgardh) and Kishangarhbas (Alwar) towns in Rajasthan in protest against different issues.

A bandh was organised in tribal-dominated Dungarpur town in Udaipur Division for the third successive day in protest against the incidents of clashes between groups of two communities on October 2, which were followed by incidents of arson at some shops during the bandh on Friday and sporadic incident of stone pelting yesterday, police sources said.

As many as 27 people have been arrested in connection with these incidents, even as police has seized some weapons, the sources added.

Meanwhile, National Commission for Women Chairperson Girija Vyas today visited Dungarpur to take stock of the situation.

The scene also turned tense in Begun, another town in Udaipur Division, following raising of anti-national slogans during a religious procession last evening. The police has lodged a case against seven youths in this connection, arresting five of them later. However, traders' associations and some outfits from majority community were not satisfied and organised a bandh today.

These outfits were demanding filing of sedition charges against the accused.

Meanwhile, a business rivalry related tiff between two groups of transporters in Kishangarhbas town in Alwar district also took an ugly turn today after violent clashes between some drivers and other transporter's staff and subsequently transport operators imposed a bandh in the town market, seeking police action against the culprits.
