We have to together fight terror, disruptives forces: Sonia
New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi today called for a collective effort by the people of the country to fight forces which set off terrorist attacks in the country.
''Our great leaders and freedom fighters have laid down their lives for the sake of maintaing the unity and integrity of the country. But today some people are trying to spread fear and destroy our unity and social harmony through terrorist acts. We have to fight these forces together,''Ms Gandhi said in her address at a function in the city to hand over provisional regularisation certificates to resident of the unauthorised colonies in Delhi.
Expressing sadness over the fact that some elements were taking advantage of these terrorist acts to create divisions in society, Ms Gandhi said,''because of the acts of a few people, these elements try to spread misconceptions among the public about the involvement of a certain community. These sections have been targetting people from a certain community in some parts of the country which is contrary to our ethos and philosophy.'' UNI AR AKJ BST2033
