Three killed, 2 injured due to lightning

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Oct 4 (UNI) Three devotees were killed and two others injured after they were struck by a lightning near Pathak Farm on Daultabad Road today.

The dead were identified as Anusya Uttam Pawar (65), Vilas Sonuji Pawar (17) and Santosh Ramrao Lambhe (40).

According to the sources, the deceased along with Sandip Sahebrao Hivwale (17) and Arun Uttam Pawar (40) went to take a darshan of devi in Mhaismal, Bhadra Maruti in Khuldabad and devi on Bhagsimata Hill this morning on two motorcycles on the occasion of the Navratri festival.

When they were on their way to Bhagsimata Hill, heavy rains started at around 1600 hrs. So, they took shelter under the neem tree, when suddenly the lightning struck them, killing three of them on the spot and injuring two others.
