Rs 487 crore for 2 water schemes in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 4: In order to meet the water supply demand in the valley, the Jammu and Kashmir government has taken up two major Water Supply Schemes (WSS) of 10 MGD capacity each for execution at Tangnar and Sukhnag at a cost of Rs 487.11 crore.

An official spokesman said the Tangnar WSS involving an expenditure of Rs 148.37 crore is a lift scheme and would provide drinking water facilities to residents of more than 20 localities in Pulwama, Badgam and Srinagar districts.

The Sukhnag water supply scheme costing Rs 338.74 crore would provide drinking water facilities to Reshipora, Sabdan, Dondos, Shariefabad, Chowribad, Harran, Hakermulla, Hanjik, Dooru Galwanpora, Gund Hassibhat, Sozyeth, Goripora, Khomaniabad, Mominabad, Zainakot and Mujgund area.
