Red Cross declares Pakistan "New War Zone"

Islamabad, Oct.4 : The International Red Cross Committee has declared Pakistan the "New War Zone" of the world.

The Daily Times quoted Markososi, a spokesman of the IRCC, as telling a US newspaper in Islamabad that Pakistan was the "new war zone" of the world.

He said that besides the recent wave of fierce bomb blasts across country and the full-fledged clashes in the restive northern Pakistan were a testimony to this fact.

The newspaper cited that more than 0.2 million people have migrated from the war-torn areas in Pakistan and over thousands of people have lost their lives in clashes between security forces and Taliban there.
