Mysore: Abhinav, Vijendra, Sushil to be honoured today

Mysore, Oct 4: To mark the Dasara festivities, Karnataka Government will be honouring Olympic Gold medalist Abhinav Bindra, Bronze medalists Vijender Singh and Sushil Kumar before Mysore Palace in a function on Saturday, Oct 4. While Abhinav would be presented with a cheque of Rs 10 lakh, Vijender and Sushil would get a purse of Rs 5 lakh each. Abhinav would declare open a three-day State-level Dasara Sports for Men and Women.

Adventure sports like hill climbing, cycle-race, powerlifting , best physique competitions, besides half-marathon would be held on Sunday, Oct 5. Seven sports persons from the state, who represented the country in the Beijing Olympics, would be honoured on the occasion.
