HC rejects bail application of Sanjeev Nanda
New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today rejected the bail application of Sanjeev Nanda who is facing five-year imprisonment for mowing down six people in his BMW car in 1999.
Justice Kailash Gambhir said bail cannot be granted till the outcome of the appeal against the sentence is pending.
The court convicted Nanda under the Section 304 (2) of the Indian Penal Code, dealing with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Nanda has filed an appeal against the sessions court's order and pleaded for bail till the pendency of the appeal.
Sanjeev Nanda, grandson of former Indian naval chief Admiral S M Nanda was sentenced to five-years rigorous imprisonment for mowing down six people on January 10, 1999 while driving in a drunken condition.
