CPI observes fast to condemn SL on Eelam issue

Puducherry, Oct 4: The Communist Party of India(CPI) Puducherry-unit today observed a fast here to condemn the Sri Lanka Government for the alleged massacre of the Eelam Tamils in the Island Nation.

CPI State Secretary Na Ra Kalainathan presided and Sahithya Accademy award winner Prapanjan inaugurated the fast, in which, a Lankan Parliament Member Sivaji Lingam, participated.

The agitation was also to press the Union Government to stop military-aid to Sri Lanka with immediate effect.

Several political parties and Tamil organisations, including CPI(M), VCK, MDMK and Tamizhar Desiya Iyyakkam, participated in the fast. Two PMC legisaltors addressed the agitators.
