CM terms police lathicharge on MP as barbaric
Bhopal, Oct 4 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today termed the police excesses on the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentarian Virendra Kumar near Bina railway station yesterday as barbaric and unfortunate.
The Chief Minister said words would fall short to condemn the attack by the GRP and RPF personnel on Mr Kumar during the anti-encroachment drive.
Mr Chouhan also visited Hameedia hospital here where Mr Kumar was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit following a severe head injury.
He wished a speedy recovery of the party MP and asked the hospital authority to provide best treatment to Mr Kumar.
He said a probe had been ordered into the police lathi charge on Mr Kumar and report would be submitted within three days.
'' Strong action will be taken against the guilty persons on the basis of the investigation report.'', Mr Chouhan said.
The Chief Minister said he would also talk to union railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav about barbaric attack on a peoples' representative by the GRP and RPF.
