FM to inaugurate special summit on banking

New Delhi, Oct 4: Union Finance Minister Chidambaram will inaugurate the special summit on banking industries and credit issues in the North Eastern Region with an emphasis on financial inclusion here on Saturday, Oct 4.

The summit will deliberate on issues like overview of the banking and credit issues in the North Eastern Region, financial inclusion of the North Eastern Region, industrial growth, expanding micro-financing, micro finance initiatives, future role of NEDFI, entrepreneurship through Women Groups, role of financial institutions in promoting investment in North East with reference to MSMEs and financing rural business hubs.

Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Mani Shankar Aiyar, Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers of North East States, Deputy Governor of RBI, Secretaries from Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Finance and other line Ministries will also be present on the occasion.
