School girl designs separate web for kids

Kozhikode, Oct 3: A ten-year-old school girl, who grabbed many global honours for her expertise in web designing, has said she was in the process of making a separate site, first of its kind in Malayalam, exclusively for kids.

Sree Lakshmi Suresh, a 6th standard student of Presentation Higher Secondary School said the site, giving quotes from famous people, ''Kadankathakal, Pazhanchollukal, Kusruthichodyangal,'' and literary works for students such as short stories, poems, articles about amazing kids, among other things, would be ready in two months.

She said the portal would be helpful for students to carry out project works.

Sree Lakshmi, who underwent only a two-month animation training at Info Group NIT, took only four days to design a site www.kozhikodedeaf.org for organistion of deaf in the district showcasing job information, matrimonials, among other things, free of cost.

The IT wizard, who showcased her brilliance by designing her first web presentationhss.com for her school when she was only six also had the distinction of being the youngest women web designer in the world.

One of top global honour that came her way was the Golden Web Award instituted by the American Association of Web Masters (AAWB) two months ago.
