Rupee resumes low at 47.18 against USD

Mumbai, Oct 3: Rupee on Friday, Oct 3 resumed low at 47.18 against US dollar at the opening session, with huge loss of 56 paise from its last close at 46.62/63, on sustained heavy demand for dollar from foreign banks.

As trading resumed after yesterday's holiday on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Rupee fluctuated in a wide range between 46.84 and 47.30 in the mid-morning session.

Dealers said there was moderate business volume till noon session, amid fears of rupee drifting lower toward the end of the session.
