No local newspaper in Kashmir for 2nd day
Srinagar, Oct 3: As the offices of all local newspapers remained closed on account of Eid-ul-Fitr for the second day yesterday, no English and Urdu daily hit the stands today.
The Internet editions of the newspapers were also not avilable because of the holiday.
The offices of more than 40 local newspapers remained closed on October 1-2 on account of the Eid festival in the Kashmir valley.
However, normal work resumed today in the newspaper offices.
Due to non-publication of local newspapers, '' surkhiyan'', programme based on headlines of English and Urdu dailies could not be telecaste and broadcast on Doordarshan and Radio Kashmir, in Srinagar for the past two days.
