Land surveyor, forest officer held for bribery
Bangalore, Oct 3 (UNI) Sleuths of the Lok Ayukta today arrested a forest officer and a land surveyor for accepting bribe for showing official favours.
According to a Lok Ayukta release here, plantation Superintendent of Range Forest Office S M Harikantha demanded Rs 5,000 from Lokesh Isur of Shimoga to stop digging a trench in his field.
The Lok Ayukta police arrested Harikantha while accepting the bribe.
In another incident, Jagannath Yarajal, a land surveyor of Gulbarga was arrested for accepting Rs 5,000 from one Somashekar Siddabasiah for surveying his land.
