Land surveyor and forest officer arrested for accepting bribe
Bangalore, Oct 3 (UNI) Lokayukta sleuths arrested a forest officer and a land surveyor today for accepting a bribe for showing offical favours.
According to a Lokayukta press release, a plantation superintendent of Range Forest Office, S M Harikantha had demanded Rs 5,000 from Lokesh Isur of Shimoga to stop digging trench in his field.
In a well laid trap, the Lokayukta police arrested Harikantha while accepting the bribe of Rs 5,000.
In other incident, Jagannath Yarajal, a land surveyor of Gulbarga was arrested for accepting Rs 5,000 from Somashekar Siddabasiah for surveying his land.
