CPI(ML) observes nation-wide protest day
Lucknow, Oct 3 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Lenninist) today observed 'Virodh Diwas' (protest day) across the country against the Indo-US Nuclear Deal and recent attacks upon the Minority community in Orissa and Karnataka.
The agitating CPI(ML) activists sat on 'dharna' in front of the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly in Lucknow and also staged commotion at other party district units.
The protestors later handed over memorandums addressed to President Pratibha Devisingh Patil and expressed concern over the silent attitude of both the central and the state governments.
The CPI(ML) also demanded a ban on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal, alleging their role in the attacks on minorities.
