BJP terms exit of Tata from WB as 'Black Day' for Indian industry
New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Terming the exit of Tata from West Bengal as 'Black Day' for the Indian industry, the BJP today held the state government as responsible for the total failure in retaining the company in the state.
Reacting to the news of exit of Tata from Singur, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said the state government had failed right from the first stage of acquisition without taking care of the interest of the farmers whose lands were acquired for the Nano project.
Secondly, he said, the government had failed to provide adequate compensation to those whose lands were acquired and thirdly, the administration failed in arriving at a settlement.
A reputed company like Tata had to abandon its nano project, which was almost complete resulting in the failure of the people of the state to encash the opportunity to prosper, Mr Javadekar said.
