BJP government trying to browbeat opposition: Kumaraswamy
Bangalore, Oct 3 (UNI) Senior JD(S) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today alleged that the BJP government in the state was trying to ''muzzle'' the opposition by lodging false complaints against them.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Kumaraswamy charged that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa was lodging false complaints to silence the opposition parties as they were exposing the ruling party's ''misrule''.
Referring to the state government's decision to file a criminal defamation case against him for his charge against Mr Yeddyurappa on the controversial decision to grant 14-acres of land on lease to one of the party members, Mr Kumaraswamy said, ''I am ready to face it.'' Stating that the Karnataka goverment's move was only to silence him from making any critical comments on the functioning of the BJP government, the former Chief Minister said, ''I have not named any individual in my corruption charges on the controversial land lease grant''.
