Parliamentarians pay tribute to Gandhi, Shastri

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee led the nation in paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri in Parliament here today.

Others who paid their floral tributes included UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani, Leader of the opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh and Union Ministers T R Baalu, Vayalar Ravi, Murli Deora, M S Gill, Prithviraj Chavan and V Narayanaswamy.

Lok Sabha Secretary General P D T Achary and Rajya Sabha Secretary General V K Agnihotri were also present at the function.

On this occasion, the Lok Sabha Secretariat released booklets in Hindi and English containing the profiles of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
