Miscreants damage glass case of idol in K'taka

Mangalore, Oct 2 (UNI) Tension prevailed after some miscreants broke the glass case of an idol at a place of worship at Assaigoli near Konaje, on the outskirts of the city today.

Police, who rushed to the place, replaced the broken glass and brought the situation under control.

As the news spread, people of the minority community gathered in large numbers in front of the place of worship, demanding arrest of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, Konaje police convened a peace meeting, attended by local leaders from all religions to maintain peace and communal harmony in the area.
