Gandhi Jayanti observed in Manipur
Imphal, Oct 2 (UNI) Mahatma Gandhi, the father of nation, was fondly remembered on his 139th birth anniversary in Manipur today.
Governor Gurchachan Jagat, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, and his council of ministers, MLAs and large numbers of people offered floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Gandhi Memorial hall here.
Devotional songs were presented on the occasion.
Governor Gurchachan Jagat said the day was very significance for the countymen and urged the people to following his techings and cleaniness of life.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh said " we should try to understand the sayings of the father of the nation.
We should not only keep our environment clean but our thoughts also".
