Former CM appeals to people to follow the doctrine of Mahatma
Patna, Oct 2 (UNI) On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's 139th birth anniversary, former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra today appealed to the people to follow the doctrine of non-violence and peace preached by the 'Father of the Nation'.
Speaking on the occasion at the Bihar Economic Study Centre here, Dr Mishra said that to stop the menace of terrorism, Gandhi's doctrine of non-violence was the ''perfect solution''.
''Arms is not the perfect weapon to tackle the terrorists. Poverty and unemployment are the main causes behind the growth of terrorism across the globe,'' he said.
Dr Mishra reminded that to eradicate poverty and unemployment, Mahatma Gandhi advocated technological development and appealed to the economists to give priority to the cottage industries.
