Floral tributes paid to Father of Nation

Shimla, Oct 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal paid floral tributes at the statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, at the historic Ridge Maidan here today on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

He also paid floral tributes at the statue of former prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri at Shastri Chowk on his birth anniversary.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by Leader of Opposition in the state assembly Vidya Stokes, local MLA Suresh Bhardwaj and Shimla MC Mayor Narender Kataria.

'Prabhat pheries' were also taken out early this morning in which devotional songs composed by Gandhi were sung.
