EID celebrated in K'taka amid tight security
Bangalore, Oct 2 (UNI) Id-ul-Fitr, marking the conclusion of the month long Ramadan fasting was celebrated throughout Karnataka today with traditional gaiety and enthusiasm.
Donning new clothes and caps, Muslims exchanged greetings with hindu brethren and distributed sweets after offering prayers.
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President (designate) R V Deshpande and Working President D K Shivakumar, participated in the Ramzan prayer at Nilasandra prayer hall.
Elaborate security arrangements had been made by the police as a precautionary measure near places of worship following the recent violence and attacks on prayer halls in various parts of the state.
No untoward incident were reported from any part of the state so far, police said.
