TVS Motor Company posts 19 pc growth in September 2008

Hosur, Tamil Nadu, Oct 1(UNI) TVS Motor Company has posted a 19 per cent growth registering total two wheeler sales of 137,246 units in September 2008 as against 115,091 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.

During the month, the company's motorcycle sales posted a 32 per cent growth recording 71,278 units in comparison to 53,991 units recorded in September 2007, according to a release here today.

The company has been able to capitalize on its wholesome product portfolio and has witnessed a quantum increase in sales with notable contributions across all models. Scooters however recorded 27,108 units as against 27,199 units during the same period of the previous year.

The company's Exports continued its upward growth trend, posting an increase of 40 per cent registering 18,229 units of two wheelers in September 2008 as against 13,036 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.
