Too early to talk of Prime Ministerial candidate: Manmohan

On Board Prime Minister's Special Aircraft, Oct 1 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said it was too early to talk in terms of a potential Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2009 Lok Sabha elections.

Dr Singh was replying to a question on whether he would be the Prime Ministerial candidate.

Speaking to reporters on board Air India One while returning from a two-nation visit to the US and France, the Prime Minister said, ''The Congress party has several leaders who are equally or better qualified than I am. I have not applied my mind to that sort of question,''he added.
