Three bomb threat calls, panic in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Panic gripped the city and its suburbs today after three calls of bomb threats were received which later turned out to be hoax.

Police said the first threatening call was received by the family court at Bandra stating that the court would be blown up. Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was pressed into service and after a thorough check up nothing was found.

Within some minutes, another call was received by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) at Bandra, but this too turned out to be a hoax after a check by security agencies.

The third call was received by Central Plaza theatre at Charni Road in south Mumbai, which also proved to be a hoax.

Police has beefed up security at many places including Mahalaxmi temple, Sidhivinayak temple, government offices and Navratri pandals in the city.
