PI attacked in Trimbakeshwar
Nashik, Oct 1 (UNI) Senior police inspector, in-charge of Trimbakeshwar police station, was allegedly attacked by a constable with a sharp weapon in the pilgrimage town today over a dispute.
Police said Sharad Chandra Gawhane (52), who was on duty at Trimbakeshwar temple police outpost, was allegedly attacked by Kisan Dute, a constable attached to the same police station.
Gawhane had scolded Dute for his frequent absence from duty and told him to resume duty after seeking approval from the senior officials. Angry over this, Dute attacked Gawhane with a sickle, injuring him seriously.
Gawhane has been admitted to the city's private hospital, where his condition is stated to be serious but stable, police added.
