Mah Governor greets people on Ramzan Eid

Mumbai, Oct 1 (UNI) Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir has greeted the people on the occasion of ''Ramzan Eid'' tomorrow.

Dr Jamir, in his message, said, ''Islam is a religion of peace and attaches great importance to compassion and brotherhood. Ramzan, the holiest of months, emphasises on self-purification and good deeds, while Eid reminds us of the noble teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammed, to look beyond oneself and to care for the underprivileged people.'' ''I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to all the people, especially the Muslims, on the joyous occasion of Ramzan Eid.

I also appeal the people, irrespective of their religion to participate in the festival in conformity with India's tradition of reverence for all religions,'' he added.
