India, Pakistan celebrate Eid on LoC in Poonch
Jammu, Oct 1 (UNI) The civil administration and the army today exchanged sweets and greetings with their Pakistani counterparts at Chakan-da-Bagh on the Line of Control (LoC) on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, sources here said.
''The soldiers from either sides of the border exchanged sweets and greetings on the occasion of the festival that is being celebrated in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan today.
official sources told UNI.
However, senior officials of the Army and the Pakistani troops exchanged greetings and shook hands in the morning to mark the Eid celebrations.
''The officials hoped and prayed for peace and prosperity in the region,'' sources added.
