Gas leakage spreads panic in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad, Oct 1 (UNI) Gas leakage from a medicine factory spread panic among residents of the Link Road police station area here today.

District Magistrate Deepak Agarwal said there was a leak in the gas pipeline at medicine factory Meditech.

Fire brigade officials reached the spot and brought the situation under control, he said.

Mr Agarwal said the gas composed of ethylene dichloride was non-toxic and posed no health hazards. However, a case has been lodged against the factory owner, he said.

Police have blocked all routes in the vicinity of the factory, he added.
