Lifetime Achievement award for Deepa Mehta
Washington, Oct 1: Deepa Mehta, the Indian-born Canadian film director will be conferred with the Lifetime Achievement award by Loyola Marymount University. The 50-year-old director will receive the 2008 Infinite Power of Story Lifetime Achievement Award on Oct 13 from School of Film and Television during its Film Outside the Frame Festival.
She would also be presented with the Cosgrove Distinguished Visiting Artist appointment during the festival. Mehta's 'Heaven on Earth' which touches the issues of immigration, isolation and power of imagination was recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
