'Clueless UPA putting forth 'absurd argument' blaming BJP: Venkaiah
Hyderabad, Oct 1 (UNI) Pressing for a ban on Islamist fundamentalist organisations responsible for terror strikes across the country, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu today alleged that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the Centre was putting forth an ''absurd arguement'' , blaming the BJP for the increasing terrorist attacks.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the Manmohan Singh government should step down from office if it could not curb terrorism.
The UPA Government was only creating an atmosphere condusive for terrorism to flourish, aided and abetted by forces from across the border, he claimed.
Stating that Islamist organisations' indulging in terrorism could not be compared with the Bajrang Dal, he said the confrontation in Orissa was between tribals and converted Christians pressing for Reservation.
Stating that the BJP was fully prepared to face the coming Lok Sabha elections, he said the party would include in its election manifesto a new policy to uplift the farmers, handloom weavers and other artisans.
Referring to state politics, he said BJP was closely watching the political developments in the state with leaders of various parties holding open and secret meetings to explore the possibility of ties between them.
''We will take an appropriate decision at an appropriate time in this regard'', he added.
