Centre should dismiss Orissa govt and ban VHP: Deepankar
Kolkata, Oct 1 (UNI) The CPI(ML)-Liberation today demanded immediate dismissal of the Orissa Government and ban on the VHP and Bajrang Dal in the wake of largescale attacks on the Christians.
Addressing newsmen here, CPI(ML)-Liberation general secretary Deepankar Bhattacharjee said the party would observe November three as a " protest day" throughout the country in protest against the attacks on the minority.
'' The Biju Janata Dal-led Government in Orissa is lenient to the Bajrang Dal and VHP, while the Congreee-led UPA Government at the Centre is harassing Muslim youths in the name of terrorism, '' he stated.
'' The Centre should not harass the Minority community and should dismiss the Orissa government and ban the Bajrang Dal and VHP immediately, '' Mr Bhattacharjee demanded.
On the Singur issue, he said, '' It is nothing but a bluff under the garb of Left Front government's industrialisation policy in West Bengal. '' '' The state government should not provide free passage to Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata from the Singur project site without paying sufficient penalty and compensation to the farmers, whose land had been acquired for the industry because those lands are not now fit for cultivation, '' he stated.
He said, '' It is the state government's responsibility for paying the land damage compensation to bargadars, marginal farmers and khet Majdoors if the Tatas pull out from the state without paying the penalty. '' '' The Left Front should fulfil its assurances made in the agreement, signed between the government and Trinamool Congress in presence of Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi at Raj Bhavan on September seven, '' he said.
The party would also organise A two-day national conference under the banner of "Akhil Bharatiya Khet Majdoor Sabha" in Ballia on November seven and eight, he said.
