Centre gives Rs 46.11 cr to flood-hit Bihar
New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) The government today announced a grant of Rs 46.11 crore for 12 flood-hit districts of Bihar towards first installment of Central share of Swarnjayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojana (SGSY) this year.
Release of funds in the ratio of 75:25 by Central and State governments is subject to audit by the Ministry of Rural Development.
The Ministry said the districts will have to submit utilisation cetrificates and audit reports for 2006-07 and 2007-08 to be eligible for release of second instalment this year. It said second instalment will be released to only those districts which have utilised not less than 60 per cent of the available funds, including first instalment of the current year.
The State government should release its 25 per cent share within one month of the Centre's sanction order, the Ministry added.
