Anti-gangrene serum injection not required for blast victims:Govt
New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Facing criticism due to non-availability of anti-gas gangrene serum injection for the victims of the recent blasts, the Health Ministry today clarified that use of such injection was no longer preferred treatment.
The Director General of Health Services has investigated the non-availability of such serum injection and consulted a number of experts on the issue.
''The experts have opined that use of Anti Gas Gangrene Serum injection is no longer the preferred treatment for such patients.
For the stated reasons, this drug is not in use and there is no availability at present,'' a Heath Ministry release said here.
During the recent serial blasts, the relatives of the patients faced a harrowing time due to the non-availability of these injection and the matter was discussed at various level following which the government has come up with this clarification.
