AGP's formal unification at Golaghat
Guwahati, Oct 01 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad(AGP) will travel a sentimental 23 year journey back to Golaghat, its birth place, on October 14, to reunite with all splinter regional forces.
''We are revisiting Golaghat. There will be a formal convention on October 13 and 14 where all the parties who are going to merge with the parent AGP are coming along with some senior AGP leaders who had left,'' said party spokesman Apruba Bhattacharrya.
The parties are AGP(P), PLP and TGP. Besides them, Mr Biraj Kr Sarma and Ms Rekha Rani Das Boro are also coming to Golaghat, he said.
The AGP was formed in 1985 at Golaghat after signing of the historic Assam Accord.
