Woman journalist shot dead
New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) A 23-year-old woman journalist working with a leading English news channel was allegedly shot dead in her car near her Vasant Kunj residence in South-West Delhi early this morning.
Saumya Vishwanathan was found dead in her car in Vasant Kunj area around 0330 hrs, according to police which said her car was found rammed against the road divider while she was sitting in the driver's seat with blood oozing from her head.
A resident of 'C' block in Vasant Kunj, Saumya worked in the production department of 'Headlines Today' and was returning home from work.
She was rushed to the Trauma Centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) by the police where she was declared 'brought dead'.
A bullet was found lodged in her head.
Looking for clues a senior police official said the matter was being probed from all angles and the body handed over to the family members.
