Rodrigues expresses grief over Jodhpur stampede
Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Union Territory Administrator, General (Retd) S F Rodrigues has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the colossal loss of lives and injuries to many in the Chamunda Devi Temple stampede in Jodhpur this morning.
As many as 147 people were killed and more than 150 others injured in the stampede during the Navratra Sthapana ceremony at the ancient Chamunda Mata Temple in the Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur.
General Rodrigues conveyed his heartfelt condolences to members of the bereaved families and also wished the injured speedy recovery.
He offered all assistance to his Rajasthan counterpart in the treatment of the injured in Chandigarh Hospitals.
