Police arrest one in German girl rape case

Chandigarh, Sep 30: One youth was arrested from Ambala for molestation and attempted rape of a German girl on Saturday, Sep 27 night. ASP Madhur Verma told reporters that the car used by the accused was impounded and one of them had been arrested from Ambala in Haryana.

Verma said an identification parade will be held in Ambala for the 20-year-old victim to identify the arrested youth. He said that another youth involved in the crime had been identified and will be arrested soon. A case of attempt to rape, abduction and molestation has been registered against six youths in connection with the incident.

German girl's tour to India for her friend's wedding turned into a nightmare after a group of six youths abducted and molested the German national for 12 hours and dropped her back. She was abducted from a high-zone security area of Taj Hotel which has shocked the residents of Chandigarh. The victim had bite marks on her body. In her complaint to the police she alleged that the youths had beaten her up. Her clothes were also torn. Her medical examination on Monday, Sep 29 confirmed that she had been raped, the police said.
